We look forward to a great year together and to your participation in Valentine’s many activities and programs. We want to inform you of some of the activities that will take place in August and September so you can get these important dates on your calendars. ©SCHOOL BEGINS TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2008 (MINIMUM DAY) 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. Grades 1-5 Cafeteria lunch will be available for Grades 2-5 ©CLASS LISTS for all classes will be posted Monday, August 25, 2008, at 4:00 P.M. on the windows of the Little Theatre. ©KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS will be notified by mail in the middle of August regarding class placement and schedules including the invitation to Kindergarten Welcome Wagon. ©The FIRST DAY PACKET contains VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION. Beginning August 1, 2008 information and forms will be posted on the District and Valentine Web Sites at san-marino.k12.ca.us. Please read all items carefully, fill in, print, sign, and return requested forms promptly in the envelope your student will bring home on the first of day of school to your student’s classroom on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. ©KINDERGARTEN "WELCOME WAGON" for parents of Kindergarten students and their Kindergartners will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Details to follow in your class placement letter. Click on it and follow the instructions to sign up. This is your most vital link - and in some cases the only link - to school events, emergency information, and calendar notices. You will receive the Update every Wednesday morning during the school year. You may sign up for more than one e-mail address – home, office, grandparents. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 ©LUNCH: Students may bring their lunch and eat in the lunch court, or they may buy their lunch through their accounts in Food Services. Nutritional School Lunch standards are followed on campus, so parents are requested not to bring “fast food” lunches to their students. Please leave any late lunches in the office by 10:00 A.M. Parents should not be in the Lunch Court area. ©CAFETERIA LUNCHES: District Food Services maintains electronic accounts for each child in the Huntington Cafeteria. A student uses a PIN to access the account at lunch time. Checks should be taken or mailed directly to Food Services at the District Office, 1665 West Drive. Make checks payable to W.L. Valentine School and please write your child’s first name and last name in the memo section of the check. Or you may use MyNutriKids.com to pay on-line; go to the District Website, click on District Information, click on Administration, click on Food Services.
